I wouldn’t be opposed to it and would definitely be in attendance if it existed and the RedHawks were there, but I kind of question what’s even the point of being a single FBS division if we are feeding separate playoffs? Especially if the best G6 champion or two is making the “big boy” playoff, it becomes a little silly.
I’m not sure what the advantage would be to being a G6 over just dropping all the non powers to FCS and playing in a more meaningful playoff.
Or allow those that want to invest and stay form a super 5th power conference coast to coast conference with access? Then relegate the rest to FCS.
Ha, more rules they will never follow.
At that point, what is the function of the NCAA? I’d argue Miami would be better off figuring out how to survive without the NCAA’s efforts to limit Miami’s ability to succeed at the highest levels of athletics
I’d argue that our ability to succeed is limited by our pocketbook, not the ncaa
I think if the NCAA was a better steward of college athletics, Miami’s long keyboard would be a little larger
The best idea I’ve heard is let the B1G/SEC create and run football with it’s own governing body and about 48 teams. Let the NCAA run football for everyone else and basketball with their own tournaments with the B1G/SEC teams continuing to participate in the NCAA basketball tournament. The rest of the sports would be run by the corresponding amateur governing bodies, i.e. USA Soccer, USA Volleyball, USGA for golf, and play regional schedules.
