Hands down it’s a much better brand to build off of. Kroger is like Safeway here in Cali (and will soon be one company). The pricing is terrible but they have everything. Just no soul. That’s why it’s “Safe”

Supposedly they’re selling off like 400+ Albertsons, Vons, and Safeway stores to meet regulatory approval. I haven’t heard which ones yet. The buyer is the same people who now own…Piggly Wiggly.

Kroger owns Harris Teeter in NC. They are the major competitor for Publix, which moved into the Tar Heel State just a few years ago.
That’s 2 billion over 10 years, with the silent phase being 2013-2019. Miami’s current campaign raised $564 million in its silent phase from 2016-2022. No idea how to compare those numbers though.
