Junior college transfer with some really good numbers.
Léa Chevrier spent the past two seasons at Florida Southwestern State.
The 5-foot-8 pitcher went 13-2, with a 2.05 earned-run average and 113 strikeouts for the Buccaneers in 2022-23 and is currently 17-0 with a 1.93 ERA and 91 strikeouts during the 2023-24 campaign.
No, she’s currently pitching for Florida Southwestern State and will be enrolled at Miami in the Fall (2024). She’s currently 17-0 with a 1.93 ERA and 91 strikeouts this season (Spring 2024).
My thought is that the French Canadian transfer is a tested and experienced college pitcher, whereas the two incoming freshmen obviously are not. So the jr college transfer is a bit of an insurance policy and Kumar can redshirt one or both of the freshmen.
