Hotels to stay in Detroit?

Anyone have any suggestions where to stay in Detroit on Friday night?

The Hilton Garden, the Artheneum and Greektown Casino Hotel are all right there within a few blocks of Ford Field. I’m sure there are plenty of other nice places within a reasonable distance, but those hotels are all literally walking distance to Ford Field.

Working in Detroit, I wouldn’t recommend the Antheneum or Greektown. Too many negative stories.

If it’s in your budget, splurge for the Shinola, Foundation, or Whitney. The Westin is a fine hotel. The Marriott at the RenCen is solid. Anything downtown is walkable to Ford Field, IMO.

Listen to that guy. Haha. I always drive home after Lions games, so I see those hotels right there near the stadium, and they look nice, but I never stay the night.

I’m a big fan of staying near the airport. All the best strip clubs are there. The Baymont Inn is especially nice.

Marriott at the Renassiance Center for this guy. I’ll be arriving late Friday afternoon.

I have to check again, but I might try to drive up to the game next week and back that day. For those that have gone before, what time would you plan on arriving at the game? Would you have any concerns about where to park as a woman by herself?

MacCrackan, last year my wife and I drove up separately to the game because she had something to do in the morning and couldn’t make it until close to halftime. I instructed her to park in the “Ford Field Parking Deck” which is attached to the stadium. It worked out great for her, very convenient. And you won’t have to worry about the garage filling up like you would during a Lions game.

Thanks. I have plans on Friday night and Sunday. With it being 3.5 hours from home, I think I could make it - and I need to start doing things on my own.

I stay out at DTW, too. $20 Uber to Ford Field for MACC. I stayed there for UT game, too, and rented a car to drive to the Glass Bowl.
