So much for getting off to a hot start and feasting on a slate of crappy OOC opponents.

And I realize itā€™s comparing two different sportsā€¦ but this is additional evidence showing yet again that what the menā€™s bball team did last season was legendary and statistically stunning. Even if you have the easiest non-conference slate (on paper) possible, you still have to actually go out and beat a supposedly bad team each night.

Felt like the third period was solid overall, but extremely tough to get any rhythm with the penalties being called consistent.

Need to figure out power plays, those were awful.

I did not have this type of performance on my Bingo card for the day.

Back to lurking.

I debated road tripping to this one. Never been to the UP and the trees are primo this time of the year. Looking at this result, Iā€™m glad I stayed home

I paid for FloSports and watched the game. We werenā€™t ready to play. Northern was. And their goalie is the real deal. The CCHA for whatever reason has outstanding goaltending year after year. And of you go 0-fer on the PP thereā€™s no incentive for the opposition to stop hacking the crap out of you. There are lots of things to analyze, Iā€™ll let Bonk do his thing on the recap, but wowā€¦I did not expect this level of performance against a team ranked this poorly.

Grrrrr. Back to lurking.

Your point about the lack of deterrent for opponents taking penalties canā€™t be overstated. Teams know they can play to the edge or over it and thereā€™s no punishment for going to the box, until Miami proves it can convert on the power play.

56

Iā€™m going to ask Noreen about this. Completely agree.
