No he got 2 min minor penalty +10 min misconduct (not a game misconduct) so it’s not an ejection but he had to spend 10 in the box I believe

Probably. Honestly today we didn’t play too bad their goalie is just way better than ours. Shots on goal was 23-30, not completely dominated. Goalie is definitely an area the squad needs to improve before next season imo.
But in every game you see other teams way faster than us, better at controlling the puck, and shooting more accurately. Our team is just way worse than the rest of the NCHC
Our special teams were AWFUL tonight. Felt like they kept sending CC players to the box all night and we stayed out of it for the most part (heck, we were even on the pp when we were killing the major). And they ended up having more PPG. We were 0/6 on the PP.

Echo that. When you think it can’t get any worse, it seemingly is …I have my doubts we will ever be strongly competitive again in the NCHC, but those here that still follow Miami hockey closely seem encouraged by our new Coaching staff.

Don’t let the faceoff truthers see this but it’s been a looong time since we’ve won more faceoffs than our opponents. The last time was back in October vs Lindenwood (our last win). Every game we’ve won or tied this season we’ve had more faceoff wins…we are 0-20-0 when we haven’t.
Looking at the players who took a faceoff last night they’re obviously trying to figure out something that works but it seems we’re still not there.
Dominate the dot and beat CC tonight (please I’m begging)!

I won’t pile on any negativity as it’s not gonna help so I’ll add in one thought: in coach Steele’s first year we were in the same situ in hoops. Remember the comments about how we didn’t have the right guys to play the pace he wanted? Or the d he wanted? That year we were one of the worst teams in D1, but we still won 8 games. And we almost beat UGA on the road. I think Yofan had like 12 points. Recall he was a walk on. And, the guy who was a walk on manager Jackson Keyon scored the winning points at Western Michigan. So why do I mention this? Because at some point even if everyone tells you that you’re overmatched, you gotta find a way to win. Even if it’s rare. I hold out hope we can win some games but it’s gonna take a big shift in belief and to me, more than talent, that’s the great outlier. My technical knowledge of hockey is poor so what I write likely has big flaws but maybe others have wondered or felt the same thing. Just win one game!

I have hope because if we can manage to do that we’ve already matched the conference win total of last season. And if we can win a second we’ve doubled it. There’s still a chance for this season to be somewhat redeemable

But weren’t we actually more competitive last year from the perspective of average goals for and against each game on average? Seems like we are getting blown out much worse this year.

I will say it’s a little different due to being in the NCHC (the best conference) vs the MAC (one of the worst). We did win a couple games out of conference against some of the worse teams and did look good at times during those games. I do think we are a little better than our pairwise reflects (3rd worst in the country) and it’s simply a result of having to play in the NCHC when you simply aren’t good enough to play in the NCHC. Next year is the real test to see improvement. The squad should be almost entirely Noreens recruits/transfers. Gotta win a couple games or at worst take more to overtime/shootout to get some points, really just any sign of improvement
