Gas War in Sidney

Always good news for us, the consumers. It has been going on for over 3 weeks now, sparked by a brand new Sheetz opening ( the first one anywhere around here). They immediately opened up at $2.44. 2 Speedways matched it and the 3 Clarks all dropped to $2.42 ( since Covid Clarks has always undercut all other stations by anywhere from 1 cents to a quarter, and has gone from one station to 3 in town.) Anyway this week Sheetz and Speedway were down to $2.33 and Clark’s to $2.30. Loves has also joined in and is at $2.33. For those driving on I-75 There are 3 Sidney exits. Edge of town on he South side has Loves, which has a huge sign showing the Current price to people on the interstate. Edge of town on the North side Sheetz is the only business located at that exit and is directly across from Lehman high School. They have the most towering price sign I have every seen. At the main Sidney exit ( the Middle one) there is a Clarks and a Speedway. You can see the Speedway sign from the interstate, but not the Clarks. If you exit there, turn West and it will be on your right.

Are those prices for regular/87? East side Cincy had gas for $2.68 last week, and currently $3.19, so the Sidney stations can certainly drop their prices further.

Maybe he means $2.44. $3.44 for regular would be quite high.

It’s been a price war surrounding the Cincinnati Dayton Rd intersection with 129 since the opening of the Wawa with prices regularly $0.40 less than everyone else but I think they recently all fell back in line.

Sorry, I am going to go back and change all those 3 somethings to 2 somethings.

Yeah, Marathon at Clough and Mt. Carmel-Tobasco is still $2.68.

Plus the Taco Jared food truck is open there. :grinning:

Sheets and Wawa seem to be aggressively expanding into Ohio.

Must be the off-season.

Casey’s too.

Love’s gives you $0.10 off per gallon with their app, and then link your AAA account to your Love’s app to get an additional $0.03 per gallon for the lucky $0.13 per gallon total discount.

So I am home from a month in Nevada and was in Sidney Friday. The War is still on, but prices have gone up some. Still, it is better than any stations I saw in my cross country drive. Sheetz was at $2.59 for regular unleaded and they also had a lower grade unleaded for $2.29. Speedway was at $2.58, and always reliable Clark at $2.55.

All things equal, gas is a commodity even though we’ve been taught to fear things like engine viscosity or thermal breakdown over the years. I’ve never known anyone whose car engine suffered from either. That said, I like Marathon because they’re best in the long run.

Two things: 1. You still have the best handle on the board. 2. For the love of all things decent, please tell me you wear a bolero to the beach. Lie to me if you must.

Got gas for $2.06 per gallon this morning in Toledo. Gas-warring new Sheetz station with additional $0.30 per gallon discount for using the app with a promo code.

Wait a while…there’s a gas station near you called “Sheetz?”

I thought you were shitting me but then I googled it and there it is. No sheetz…!

They make bio-fuels out of …

Wait…people?

Sheetz is…people?

Wawa backed off their prices in the Liberty Way area so things there are back to normal but their new one at Tylersville and Bypass 4 has prices down about $0.40 below everyone else in the area.
