Game Week - Robert Morris

I get the feeling Chuck is giving the gloom and doom prediction just to keep expectations low and probably motivate the team. Definitely has been his MO over the years.

He also never even hinted it was a season ending injury. He just said we don’t have a solid timeline yet and it won’t be soon. I would say 3 or 4 weeks isn’t soon. Coldiron is expected back “soon”

It’s a delicacy in Ecuador. It’s called “cuy”. Really.

Yeah is there a replay of Hawktalk…not sure where RS got the notion…Chuck did say it was wait and see thing…maybe they got new info…

But I figured he was out til MAC, based on everthing else that has been said or communicated.

Yes he did last night on hawktalk.

He says Brett " lost for awhile and Sammy Vaughan for the year "…unless there’s more in some question and answer.

I watched the replay. He said it’s wait and see but not soon.

Yeah…that’s what I heard so far, so not sure this is new stuff.

Check around the 5 minute mark. He says new guys are gonna play LT and QB for the rest of the season

Believe me I hope it is 2 weeks. Or no weeks.

“We lost Sam for the season and Brett for a long time.”

He did say they might lose the quarterback for the season, but quite frankly, this feels more like Chuck’s word games than anything certain.

Yeah…and certainly Brett could comeback and then not be able to go.

So we shall see…don’t think it’s definitive.

It’s definitely a month RS, …but that’s MAC play.

The way he said that was “lose left tackle for the year and quarterback in first game” …Vaughan is a certainty…Brett a maybe…Coldiron back in two weeks hopefully, maybe UC.

Chuck ever say WHY Gabbert was still in with the game lost? If he did I missed it.

No he’s not addressing that…other than sneaking in “we were playing our guys to the end in this one” type of thing…

The good news is, unless he’s just like whatever at this point, Chuck is putting on the face that he has some faith in Aveon to do what he can do and be competitive.

I would listen to the part from 446 to 458 - he twice says that QB is probably lost for the season.

It may be word games but he uses the word “probably” not “might”

This is the game thread, not a transfer speculation thread. Feel free to discuss in the transfer thread that’s currently on the topic of chili or something

Bottom line is that we lost our LT for the season, our only experienced (and all conference) QB for an undetermined amount of time and our top TE for at least a game or two in our very first outing of the season. This is precisely the nightmare we all hoped we could avoid. That scenario absolutely has to damper our potential for logging better than our first 1-3 OOC record since 2003.

To be fair, we went 2-1 in OOC play (wins over UC & Temple, loss @ OSU) in 2005.

It’s still sad it’s been that long since we’ve entered MAC play with a record of .500 or better.

I would not be surprised if Brett is done for season. See his new Instagram post below.
