It’s almost like deja vu. It’s like Indiana used to be when John Pont took over there. It’s like something happens in the game and you say “here we go again” and the slide starts…
To beat a ranked SEC team on the road you need to limit mistakes and make the big plays. Turn that redzone INT into a Pick 6 (he had the whole field in front of him). Don’t give up a kick return touchdown or fumble in our zone, let alone both. Don’t play classic Chuck conservative offense. Was a valiant effort, but we’ve been saying that since literally Chuck’s first game against Marshall in 2014. Let’s go get a scalp against UC and Northwestern so we forget this.
Coach didnt sound optimistic about Brett on the postgame
L&H, I’ll gladly take one of two (UC or NW) at this point given our OOC FBS track record under Chuck.
Well that is a total bummer… especially since he should not have been in the game at that point.
Is it serious…what are we thinking/hearing?
Hopefully our health is there…anyone know if Brett, Wise or Vaughn hurt significantly?
Love to see UC or NU win, but with Chuck it’s just hard to envision. Year 9 and we dont look like a threat to OOC.
Was hoping for legit threat to UK, granted it was closer to a 10 to 17 margin, but alas here we are…
These OOC games are lost before kickoff. The possibility that Miami could win them doesn’t even enter Martin’s mind, and that vibe holds all week, up to and through kickoff. I don’t mean OSU Wisco or ND, I mean the mid-ass B1G teams – Minn, NW, Iowa, etc
The SEC+ sideline person talked to Martin at half, and relayed how he spent part of that time wondering what the UK staff was saying to motivate his players, since the mighty SEC was only up three.
Separated shoulder?
Unreal…if true that he’s hurt to that extent…when he should not be in game.
I have no idea what the injury is
I was assuming it would be worse as I don’t think our staff cares about Tomahawks anymore.
Honestly, with a couple of possible game changing plays (as mentioned previously), this was a game we could have won. I am not saying we should have won, but in Miami’s history of winning some of these big OOC games, we found a way to get it done. This Miami team was competitive with UK…look at the they way we bottled up their run game, which says a lot for our D line.
But under Chuck, it just never happens…it just doesn’t.
Absolutely no chance this team even w Gabbert beats either NW or UC.
Lol a loss to #20 Kentucky means Miami can’t beat a NW team that beat the same Nebraska that had a scare with North Dakota?
First post here and might just have a post to add to “the list”
You feel good talking about kids like that?
What a loser this guy is
The team was ready to play and was aggressive and competitive in the first half. I’m guessing this put Chuck outside of his comfort zone, so he made “adjustments” at halftime.
Especially because Saunders was put on an island all night and actually did surprisingly well. He got called for the softest PI (of course SECN didn’t show a replay) and only gave up catches when the safeties were slow to pick up across the middle.
Can’t believe some of you watched the same game I did.
I feel way better about our team moving forward than I did before the game (granted Gabbert is okay). Outstanding performance from our D tonight. Tough for Gabbert to throw when DL is so big and tall… but he made a lot of great reads. Shelton looked great
I think this team showed they can play with NW, potentially UC…but that requires Brett and better OL play.
As solid as D looked overall, better DB play and well ST needs to look in mirror on coverage.
