Evan!

Every game he has a hidden gem. Sneaky points. Assists. Sometimes even rebounds. And his foul shooting. I think he’s the hidden MVP this year. Who agrees?

My unsung hero from last night is Reece Potter. On a night where Woolfolk really struggled with Kent’s beef (2 rebounds and 4 fouls), Potter quietly led the team with 6 rebounds (3 offensive). He’s skinny as a rail and can’t really bang down in the paint, but it looks like his footwork has improved a lot over the course of the season. He’s taking fewer dumb fouls and using positioning and those Inspector Gadget arms to be effective on the boards. And having a seven-footer who can step out and hit a three is still pretty unique in the MAC.

We’ve got him because he’s a project, but the project is going well. Hopefully, he’ll stay out of the portal and keep progressing here.

Bigly agree on Potter. He looked aggressive out there and loved seeing the emotion after his monster dunk. I think we all have been waiting for him to play to his size and hopefully last night was the start of that.

This was the first Miami I’ve watched on TV since the Indiana game-so I had the luxury of replay and rewind. Woolfolk was not getting beat by bulk, but by positioning. There’s definitely room for some fundamental improvement on his part. That said, Potter’s key rebounds made a difference in the game, no doubt. The best Miami win I’ve seen all year.
