Did you know?

You are the one repeatedly asking why a mug shot of Ben isn’t being posted. Not I. I find this entire thread reprehensible.

Any mug shot of Ben is a fake, an obvious Photoshop.

I’m advocating for some consistency. Super weird to me why @Eddie felt the need to go there in the first response.

Actually there is not. There is a photo of him in Chat Sports, in which his head from a photo was photoshopped from a picture on him with Amber Hanley. So the photo of his head from the picture with Amber Hanley was photoshopped into a headshot of him in an orange t-shirt. Easy enough to find on a google search. This board should do better.

Captain protect a credibly accused sexual predator over here is more upset about headshots than blatant micro aggressions is a new turn for this board

Yeah, Ben certainly doesn’t need anybody white-knighting for him. Hopefully his life is turned around but he was a dreadful person in Oxford and his first several years in Pittsburgh

Yeah, but Ben gets a pass because he’s not a…checks notes…umm, a rapper.

I rapped to some high school kids once. I was dressed as the Pink Panther in a full costume for some school supply company in Atlanta when I was in grad school. I had to tell them to stay in school and not use drugs. It was not well received as they threw pens at my head and booed me off the stage. But the check cashed and that’s what matters. “Stay in school, don’t be a loser. Say no to drugs or you’ll become an abuser.” It was good money.

I owe Nod Washington an apology. I’m the OP of this thread. I saw the Twitter post I linked and didn’t know that a former Miami football player had gone on to be an accomplished rapper. I thought that would be of interest to fellow Miami fans. I was impressed by his stellar career, music consistently near the top of the charts, multiple times Grammy nominee and collaborations with some of the biggest names in the business. By any measure a success in his field.

Unfortunately, one poster dug deep into Nod’s background and used what he found to make not so thinly veiled racist posts about his character, replete with a mug shot.

I have a couple friends who are big rap fans and I’m going to proudly tell them that Plies played football at Miami.

Didn’t expect anybody (and they hadn’t) to stoop that low with that type of comment.

Posted in wrong spot

I will say it again, just in case anyone didn’t get the message. I find this entire thread distasteful and abhorrent. The entire thing.

My last comment.

Shame on you Grumpy. Shame on you for making that type of accusation. I’m incredibly disappointed.

You don’t know me (obviously) or anything about me. If you saw me, my family (physically), and what we stand for, you would instantly understand how wrong your post was.

Read the sarcasm. Nobody is actually calling for people to disparage Ben in threads.

I too have a black friend and when they share fun facts about successful people the first thing I like to respond with is ‘hey but did you know he’s a criminal’

Didn’t look like sarcasm to me. Nor to others.

You are complaining about people stooping too low?! The irony :joy:

It’s a totally normal thing to sarcasticly comment on someone’s career and post their mugshot when someone else thought we’d all be interested in knowing this guy used to play for our alma mater.

And of course it had to be pointed out that he was a “drop out” from college while conveniently ignoring the fact that one Ben Roethlisberger also “dropped out” of college in favor of his career, only to finish his degree several years later. There must be something different about the two. I just can’t seem to put my finger on it.
