I actually hate that we have that reaction.
Some (a lot) of us are carrying a whole lot of trauma from 2009ā¦
Iām still in therapy.
Indeed. I was watching the game in a Pittsburgh restaurant. I still remember where I was sitting.
I can still feel the confetti I had in my hand, ready to throw when time ran out.
Slukinsky is not having a great game

My friend was a ga at wmu and is at the game. I told her dont even get ready to celebrate until its 0.00 on the clock.
It was my senior year. I was there in the band. I know the guy who was Swoop at the game. He had the box of championship gear in his hands (wings?) ready to run out onto the ice.
2 goal 3rd period deficit for BUā¦
Itās the worst lead in hockeyā¦
(Hopefully not for Western tonight, though!)
2009, what could have been. Hopefully we can get back there again. No reason Western is able to do it, and not us!
5-2! What a beauty of a goal that was!
That should be it
Never would have guessed back in the #WhyWestern days that they would win a championship before we did. Ugh. Iām happy for them (and certainly didnāt want BU to win!) but it still stings.
Thatās now 7 national championships out of 10 that the NCHC has existed for
Really felt like it was just their year this year. The team of destiny
Extremely enraging how this program has deteriorated
National champions Robby Drazner and Kirk Laursenš«”
This. Iām glad BU lost but itās annoying to see another school (especially a fellow MAC school) celebrating a national title while weāre still without one. At least this shows it can be done by a school that is predominantly a MAC school in the modern landscape of college athletics.
Coach Noreen, please get this program back to the point where we have a reason to look forward to Selection Sunday, games in late March, and games in April.
Iād take a conference win at this point.
