I know they’re mostly thinking of the Power schools where the games are “meaningless” but if they are looking to make it a NCAA type policy, could the MAC title game be on the chopping block too?
Or does this further erode the illusion that the SBC and MAC are even playing in the same structure as the powers by having different rules for our little conferences vs. theirs? Would be a shame to not have a title game to look forward to when playoffs will be very rarely, if ever, in play.

If, when they expand to 24 teams, the MAC champ automatically qualifies, then I don’t mind getting rid of the game. Especially if we go 9-game conference schedule. However, if not, then I think I would have an issue with it. Ford Field is a great venue for our event. Would be a shame to see it come to an end.
There’s zero chance that college football in its current form will give an auto-bid to all G5 champs.
I don’t mind a few changes to the calendar so the CFP championship is no later than the second Monday of January, but that’s hardly college football’s biggest problem right now.
