Miami tips off against Akron at 7:40 PM Eastern on ESPN2, available on cable, some streaming packages, and dodgy internet platforms that fell off the back of a truck.
Many of the MHT regulars will be there in person. The rest of us can use this clean thread for pregame and in-game discussion since the tournament thread is starting to bog down for those using phones to follow along.
EDITED TO ADD: The game will start on ESPN News since the Bill-the-Cat conference game is running long.
Fyi. For those planning on watching on tv the aac semi final first game went excruciatingly long. The next game probably doesnt tip until 605 and that has to finish before Miami is on tv. So be alert for espn plus or espn news for a bit
This is why I hate how ESPN schedules games. Every game gets 2 hours in the scheduling block and that’s it. In the regular season, you might get away with that. In tournament games, you’re likely going longer than 2 hours, and then there is the 30-minute break between games within the same tournament. Schedule everything for 2.5 hours, that should give you enough time for even an OT session and you can still start the upcoming games on time. Then if a game goes multiple OT sessions, that would clog it up… but more often than not, 2.5 hours should suffice.
If you have extra time, you could have the studio crew kill time. But ESPN just wants to cram in content and doesn’t want to be bothered planning for such a thing as extra time to fill in between live sporting events.
I agree.
Either Akron stays hot, and wins easily, or comes down to earth a bit, and we win a close one.
We’ve shown in this tournament the ability to pull out close games.
And, despite shooting red hot, Akron never really pulled away in its last game against Toledo, like you would have thought, until the end (Bugs simply collapsed in the second half). BG and Toledo just didn’t have the firepower to catch up, once behind, despite a few opportunities.
