Because Smith has been inept at throwing the ball today. And it would be too risky that far back in our own zone when Buffalo would be selling out on the pass defensively.

I know he doesn’t have a good arm, but with the help of the wind, and then throwing it on the sideline where only the receiver could get it

We probably need to hold them to a FG in the second half to have a real chance to win. Hopefully our offense can find its standard 10-14 points in the second half.
I didn’t watch most of the Northwestern game, but was the offensive game plan to just wear them out on the ground and hope to score in the 4th? Seems this is plan today
