It is mostly football. Itās pretty hard to track other sports. I think five of our thirteen outbound from football this year were southern kids who entered the portal plus a couple from Missouri. Almost all were kids from outside Southwest Ohio - which I am aware is now reflective of our team overall.
What Iām feeling, I guess, is that we are recruiting a lot of kids who have no emotional, social, geographical or familial attachment to Miami, Oxford or even to Ohio. Their patience threshold might be a bit lower than kids from the area.
The Student has a profile of Dean: āI Wanna Go Dancingā: Bradley Dean transfers to Miami - The Miami Student
I like his confidence and vision. Seems like he has the work ethic to back it up.
Hoping for an exciting season next year.
Dean took some visits but ended up back at UVA Wise

So did Dean get cut?
Good question!
Would be odd if true. He wasnāt a star, but he was a solid depth player and only has one more year of eligibility. We still have 4 open scholarships for next season, so itās not like thereās someone immediately waiting in the wings to push him out.
I think by the time the season rolls around itāll have been apparent Dean wasnāt going to get a ton of minutes at Miami. Canāt blame him for wanting to finish his career being āthe Manā at a place heās familiar with and comfortable in.
This will make an interesting chapter in my book about the portal.
