Bowl Projections 2024

Living in Phoenix the Arizona Bowl would be awesome!!! Plus I think it’s sponsored by Snoop Dogg.

I just want it because it’s probably the only MAC bowl within driving distance to me :joy:

Boca Bowl is early in the bowl season. It’s also on a Wednesday evening.

Arizona Bowl is later (Dec.28) and on a Saturday. And, as mentioned already, it’s sponsored by Snoop.

Will it be on the CW again?

247Sports has us in Boca vs. Georgia Southern

Perhaps it will be followed by One Tree Hill or the sad spinoff of Dawson’s Creek called Dawson’s Cul-Di-Sac. If you haven’t seen it, I won’t spoil the plot, but suffice to say, they all live in Atlanta and work in dead end middle management jobs. Everything is terrible.

That plot should be, Katie Holmes divorces her weirdo rich husband, moves back to Toledo, has affair with Rockets football coach causing massive underachievement.

Call it “Dawson’s MACtion”

It’s now the Snoop Dog and Dre Gin and Juice Bowl. I doubt it would be popular for Liberty and BYU.

Will it be filmed in Wilmywood like the first two series?

It’s sponsored by Piggly Wiggly and for some reason they try to embed terrible QR recipes into the content. Each extremely disgusting.

Sing it, everyone:

"I don’t want to wait…

for another MAC title and bowl game victory."

But Snoop dog selling gin is great

I dont warch or follow Dave Portney but I think Barstool has a lot of tie in to high school and college fan boards. I know that is how my kids high school would promote their games on instagram

It just seemed to me that a late december warm weather bowl game vs a mwc opponent was deemed not worthy on this board because some of you dont like the politics of the company owner- which I thought was a stupid reason

The tv reason made some sense but that was rectified

Yeah, it’s fine. Barstool is popular among the high school/college male demographic for being a bit edgy and not exactly brand safe which is why there was a lot of hesitation from schools/conferences who didn’t want to get tied in to too closely. I don’t think politics was a key factor at all.

Snoop cooks with Martha Stewart and does the Olympics with NBC. Him promoting a canned cocktail isn’t going to be controversial when it’s what most schools have started selling at games anyways.

Also, if you tuned into the broadcast, the commentary from the barstool guys was pretty sub-par and dismissive of the teams/the game, which I wasn’t a fan of.

Agreed…that’s what I didn’t like…the goofy announcers that greatly detracted from the game. Call me “old school” but I was not a fan.

Correct. The online broadcast seemed more of a mockery of the game than a description and commentary.

Do we know for sure this year’s Arizona Bowl will be broadcast on the CW? If so maybe you’d get Thom Brennaman since he’s their main PxP guy…quite the upgrade from the Barstool guys

Yeah, they actively insulted the game they were watching (when they weren’t openly bitching about how the action on the field was hurting their bets).
