Biletnikof Award Finalists

How did Jack not make this list?

The 10 semifinalists for the Biletnikoff Award (top pass-catcher) are:

Jordan Addison, Pitt
David Bell, Purdue
Jahan Dotson, Penn State
Josh Downs, North Carolina
Drake London, USC
Chris Olave, Ohio State
A.T. Perry, Wake Forest
Jerreth Sterns, Western Kentucky
Deven Thompkins, Utah State
Jameson Williams, Alabama

This is a travesty with no Jack on here!

Sorenson:
61 catches, 1,098 yards, 18.0 avg, 8 TDs

Olave:
51 catches, 708 yards, 13.9 avg, 11 TDs

Olave is only 57th in the country in receiving yards. Obviously Olave is the better pro prospect, but that’s not how college awards are supposed to be decided.

Why wasn’t Sloman a finalist for the Groza award 2 years ago, even though his FG percentages (from all distances) were all equal to or better than what Rodrigo Blankeship put up in 2019?

Same reason Sorenson isn’t considered for the Biletnikof.

There are players from Western Kentucky and Utah State on the Belitnikof finalist list so it’s not exclusively a P5 monopoly.

Sure but the last non-power conference guy to win it was Troy Edwards from LA Tech in 1998. He started that season with 405 yards against Nebraska (with the Huskers coming off a share of the national title.) That is what it takes for a G5 player to force his way into serious consideration.
