So far New Coach Dan Gwitt has made some progress as the women have gone 6-5, playing all 11 games on the road. Tonight is the first home game for our new era in volleyball. It is also our first MAC game of the season, and both tonight and tomorrow night’s games are on ESPN+ at 6:30. Also, there is a nice article on freshman Sophie Crawford onMURedHawks.com.

CMU swept us in 3 sets to move to 10-3 on the year. I watched part of the telecast with Steve Baker on the play by play and Lisa Dankovich on color. Not a volleyball expert, but their top 3 spikers were bigger and better than our front line. Looked like. A nice crowd, teams play again tonight, also on ESPN3 at 6:30.
Big disadvantage playing opponents with eight limbs, we need to get on that. Surprised that Richmond isn’t a volleyball powerhouse.

Seems we have made some steps in the right direction but still need better talent. I bet they are back to winning MAC championships within 2-3 years.
