Bethany College Prediction Friday!

This is the Byers I got to see at practice. I know it’s a D3 program, but it’s gotta feel good to see the ball go through the hoop finally.

Destroyed them and no injuries. That’s a success for this game.

Couple things:

  1. Box score says over 1k attendance. If so, not bad for a break when not many are around.)

  2. How many players did Aunt Bethany bring? I saw like 20 in the box score, 15 of which were from the bench. I guess D3 has more roster size flexibility…?

These games are the ridiculous ones that Miami is forced to play. Miami should not be playing NAIA teams like Bethany College, or Wilberforce or weird religious clans like Athletes In Action. Play some real effing teams, like Cooper used to do… Play the best, beast the best, BE THE BEST!

Cooper?

If this game gets Byers going, it was worth way more than the glorified scrimmage that it appeared to be.

Wright hitting the 3 at the end of the game was such a cool moment; the smile on his face said it all.

One of the better coaches in recent Miami memory. Not a lot to work with but got the most out of his teams.

You mean Coles, right? Not Cooper?

In following Miami basketball for 35 years I never once remember us playing Athletes in Action- I am not sure that concept even exists any longer and those games were exhibitions not real games anyway

What an odd complaint

You cannot be referring to John Cooper.

In addition, Bethany College is a D3 school, not NAIA.

And John Cooper lost to Wilmington College, a D3 school in 2013.

Not your best post.

Coles, not Cooper. My bad.

However, Bethany College is a NAIA program based out of Kansas. They have an outstanding men’s tennis program, but are a very small college overall (about 1000 students), and not sure why Miami would play them.

Carm, I don’t want to suggest a head exam for CTE…but not only did you mix up Coles and Cooper, but Bethany is a Division III school in WV, not NAIA in Kansas

We did play Athletics in Action at Millett. It was sometime in the early-mid 90s.
