I feel really sorry for our WRs. Amazing, truly amazing talent that will go wasted. Mac Hippenhammer all over again
Our offense is just pathetic…either no receivers are open or Aveon cannot find secondary receivers and just runs it
Aveon Smith is not a division 1 quarterback. Gage is open and we miss him by 6 feet. Embarrassing.

Down 9-3 after the way our O has played. I still feel good. AV will settle in. We just need D to play at high level, no turnovers, and we can win this.

Why are we using 4 wideouts when we have a QB whose passing leaves much to be desired.
Amos and another blocker in the backfield or an extra tight end would appear to have been a better strategy.

Maybe our only points of the game unless we recover another fumble or get an interception. Don’t see offense doing much today.
Aveon is a very talented runner and he may have improved his mechanics from last season, but he just does not have the pocket awareness and throwing accuracy needed to be a legitimate QB at the FBS level in our system. That’s on the staff and not him, but if we want to pull out this game (and have a shot at the East) or have any chance at running a decent offense this season we need to put Hesson in or drastically switch up the offense to a level of innovation that Martin just doesn’t do.

Yes unless Aveon magically gets much better in the next couple of series, or maybe we should put in Hesson…of course as we all know, no other QB has been given any game experience by Chuck.

So far I have seen NOTHING that shows me that Aveon is improved in pocket awareness and throwing ability.
CM will never pull Aveon. So that’s not going to happen.
We all seem to be saying the same thing over and over again, just in different ways. I keep hearing that he’ll settle in but will it be too late if that ever happens?

Love the fight of this team. Defense is stout and will battle all day. But man, without BG…we are so limited offensively.

Ballcoach, what is bothering me is how inexperienced Aveon looks in the pocket…not comfortable, gives up on pass too easily, and doesn’t seem to use a progression on looking for secondary receivers…he just runs it as the pocket collapses.
I agree with you. We saw it last year, and here we are again. We can win like this but there is very little margin for error. AV will make enough plays for CM to justify keeping him in the game.
