I’m on campus - it’s just about noon. Parked in the Gray lot on the back side of the Convo - near Bob Wren Baseball Stadium. Don’t see anyone in Red and White anywhere. Growing concern about being taken hostage. In need of MHT advice on escape plan and possible food truck locations.

Gotta run Smith early several times to keep OU honest. Make them play some zone allowing our receivers to find soft spots. Gotta think the defense is ready for OU after that first half last week.
The defense will be fine. The game plan on offense will have big impact on this game. It cannot be the same as pocket passer Gabbert.
I can honestly say I’ve never seen long johns with giant numbers on the chest and back.

Looks like rain taken out of the forecast… cloudy, balmy fall day in the mid 60’s. Actually, w late afternoon kickoff, a cloudy day will make it easier to throw without sun in the eyes of QB and receivers.

I believe today’s game will be decided by Gage and Wilkins. The threat of our running game is going to create 4-6 opportunities down the field in single coverage. I think this year Aveon is going to put them where our receivers can get them. Our guys need to come down with 2-3 of them.

Aveon has been at Miami for 4 years. I have seen little improvement. He played basically the entire 2022 season and wasn’t very good. Why hasn’t Chuck developed a good backup to Brett? At one time last year he had 6 QBs and it’s hard to believe that one of them wasn’t better than Aveon. I certainly hope Aveon can pull Miami through the rest of the season.

Some of you are wondering what sort of hideous musical curse I have in store for OU and before we get to that, I realized last week that while my Coldplay Yellow call was correct, in hindsight I prolly should have planted it a few days earlier as they didn’t seem phased by it until the 2nd half when if that lard ass center hadn’t fallen on Brett, we’d have won. So, this time, I took time out of my busy schedule to catch a tramp steamer and then hobo’ed my way by boxcar to OU’s stadium dressed as a Hocking Hills Hillbilly. I got right in and even had someone offer me a can of Natural Ice. Anyhow, I’ve had this song playing on a subliminal loop in their locker room and frankly, it may be the worst song ever made. Good luck today, OU and again, my apologies!

Not much of a first possession with good field position…still went conservative w two running plays and then a sack.
