With a good return, if we started around the 40 we’d only need to get 20ish to get into field goal range. With the bounce though there’s zero doubt that kneeling to end it was the right move.
That was weird given our lack of offense…I could see taki g this time outs if OU was deep in their end…otherwise, you would just be taking a chance at a turnover if you started throwing backed up on your side of the field. Didn’t end up mattering other than being a bit nonsensical give our philosophy on offense.

Hard to imagine we are ahead after that start but who cares.
I will say it again. Smith has to run the ball.
Exactly! And Smith is much more effective running after a fake to the RB vs. those designed sweeps.
Also, the only time Aveon looked comfortable throwing is with a short drop and a quick slant pattern…he stood up tall and delivered those passes with good form and results. That way he can lock onto primary receiver and not forced to stay in the pocket looking for secondary receivers (which he seems to struggle with).

We have had really bad starts in each of the last 2 week. But dang the team responded mid-game. It wasn’t enough last week. Keep pushing, gentlemen. Make sure it’s more than enough this week.
In a flash of brilliance I have decided that if we shut them out this half we will win. Sometimes I amaze myself.
