BATTLE OF THE BRICKS WEEK-MIAMI V. OHIO

I think it falls on offensive play calling. Terrible play calling in the first half

I think that is a bit unfair

Come on now…

I was basically pleading for CM to run Jones on the first trip into the red zone. I still have no idea why he didn’t. It seemed so damned obvious!

we had 2 turnovers and what did they yield?

So Chuck didn’t also own the first half of predictable play calling and terrible red zone efficiency?

Who is the offensive coordinator who refuses to use a helmet radio to his QB?

=>Sucks to lose, but that was a pretty entertaining game in the second half.

I am not entertained by Miami losses!

Me neither. We make too much of a habit to leave points out on the field instead of on the scoreboard.

We didn’t really develop Finn. Finn came as pretty much a finished work

=>Yes you were!!!

Maybe Jones was late for the game, maybe Chuck forgot his name or number, but more than likely Chuck does not deviate from his first half game plan. He is decent at half time adjustments.

=>I think Finn is (understandably) prolly a little gun shy to run with that recent concussion.

Its a disappointing loss, but we have 11 new starters on offense, are sitting at 4-1, and still control our own destiny.

Buffalo is fool’s gold this season. We have Toledo at home. Win the games left and get to Detroit. No one at OU cares about what happened in Oxford in 2024 and we won’t care what happened tonight.

This loss stings because it was winnable. We had it, just like UNLV. One play lost the game.

We are a low tier mid major in a nothing conference. Chuck is frustrating but he is a good coach. He’s Jim Tresell without the horses. I am a West Point grad and played football for Army. We will forever own the 0-13 worst season in college football history because we had the wrong coach. Be careful what you wish for.

We will be right there at the end for the MAC. The good news is Chuck will probably play much less conservative now because we have to have it. We will be fine. I think we sill wn the MAC and get to a good bowl.

=>Don’t be rational. Nobody wants to see that shit. CM is the worst coach ever, the season is over, and we all have Bobcat envy. #FireChuckMartin

Yeah, the odds of running the table and getting to Detroit at 9-3/8-0 were extremely thin with how we were playing. At a certain point you get burned when you don’t execute on the road.

My preseason prediction was that we’d go 0-3 to start with the new offense, then win 6-7 MAC games with a shot at Detroit. That’s still doable, go out and get it starting next Wednesday. If my plans hold I’ll be at my first Miami game in Oxford since 2017 against UC.

=>CM is a horrible coach.

Besides 2 straight MAC title game appearances (3 total), currently in 1st place, 2 MAC titles, winningist program in MAC play during last 7 or so years, bowl eligible every year, WTF has the guy done???

This loss is not on CM - its on the players- Trick knows better than to go high toward the face mast- our DB ( Martin ? ) falls down on their last TD- the kick off return team has been bad for the last two weeks including kicking the ball OB at the end of the first half setting up their FG- too much arm tackling- Finn was soft tonight on the run - an off sides on the OU 1 yard line. ETC. Credit to the OU defensive game plan ( set up by a former Miami coach ) containing Finn and their pass defense was overall excellent including playing tight press coverage on the interception at the end. Miami DC take note.This is a game that should have been won in the first half and why we do not do a QB sneak on the 1/2 yd is a question CM does need to answer. Like the UNLV game we find a way to lose. We will find out next week what this team is made of and whether they can come back from a terrible loss.

Hate to say it because he’s one of the best DL’s in the game, but Trick lost us that game. 3rd and 14 and tons of pressure from 2-3, can’t get a face mask.

This loss wasn’t in any one player but what really bothered me about Finn tonight, besides that horrible INT throw, was his runs gained nothing. Virtually no positive yards when he scrambled. Ran sideways and OOB. At least try to gain a few yards. I think he had 8 carries for 11 yards and 7 came on one play.
