This was total domination today. The 4th quarter was what it was. We got screwed on the 2 replays. We should’ve had a fumble return for a TD and another fumble recovery to make it look even worse. Let’s keep it going next week!
Yes, and I guess the difference in the amount burned seconds after three run attempts and, say, two runs and one throw is miniscule. I don’t get it.
A total shitkicking over a pile of shit program. They never stood a chance. We could’ve scored 50 but showed mercy because they had to go back to the only place less desirable than a morgue. Whatever four teams they beat should be disbanded ASAP. It’s hard to see us getting any help from them down the line since they won’t win again with that roster of diarrhea.
Matt Lauer is a creep. Jason Preston is playing basketball in Saturn right now. Go back to blogging about Lindsey Hunter.
Sackman said we’re going to Detroit. He meant it.

I mean he personally did something at least😂
Certainly feel way better about our prospects after two convincing wins where the offense showed life. Wish it didn’t take past the halfway point of the regular season and a dud OOC to figure it out but hey better late than never. Only one remaining game against a current winning team so let’s go onto 8-4 before kicking ass again in Detroit.
I have been very critical of using Mozee in short yardage situations (based purely on the dismal results), but man when he gets through the line untouched he can really fly. Again, just goes to show you that we need to use the correct back based on the situation. Today we did use both Downing and Mozee but for some reason Brunson was back on the bench.
Like the win BUT CM has no common sense as usual- Brett should not have been playing the last 4 + minutes of the game especially given the score margin and his injury record. Henry H should have been in and we should have run our regular offense to get him experience. Also 1st team OlL should have been out given injury situations as should have been the 1st team D- they were exhausted. Why did we run our best running back 6 + straight times at the end of the game? CM has no common sense re game day coaching - this should/could have been a 50-6 game
I am going to be a little more positive than Calohawk but in general I agree
For three quarters we were absolutely outstanding. We thoroughly dominated the game
Outstanding passing game and effective running
Defense was unbelievable for the majority of the game and clutch on 3rd down
Good punting
But the last 10 minutes were ridiculous. You cant just bring everyone in and try to run jumbo package on 1st and 10 the. 2nd and 8 and then 3rd and 7
We have a very efficient passing game. We complete most balls (67%). Run your normal offense and we will burn way more of the
Clock
Also I was shocked the announced crowd was only 17k. I was there. I thought the home stands were as full as any Miami game in 20 years. The student side was way better for Uc but i would have guessed 20k easy. Parking was impossible
Home sideline is maybe 11k at capacity. I’d say maybe 10k there. Probably 2-3k on visitor side. 13k feels like a good number, 17k is dreaming
I think the home side has roughly 60 rows and the away side has roughly 40.
So capacity is more like 14k v 10k……it sure didn’t look like the away side was almost 1/3 full, but the tv views can be deceiving
You would think Chuck would learn from the previous injuries suffered by Brett late in games that were already decided…but no. Also mystified that he never looks to give some game experience to back ups like Hesson.
Home side is way more than 11k. It is 14-15k. You can count the seats and the rows. Total capacity is 24,286
And we announce tickets sold plus students
I would have thought 14k easy on the home side and way more than 2-3 on the away side. OU had two sections pretty full on the away side and we had an ok student turn out
Cincykid3- - totally agree. I walked out of the stadium extremely disappointed yesterday and woke up this morning even more disappointed about Miami football even though we won. I moved from my seat to sit behind the bench for the kast 10 + minutes of the game. It was clear our D 1 unit was completely exhausted for the last 10 + minutes of the game. They had been on the field for a good portion of the 3Q during OU’s long TD drive and were sent out on the field with almost no rest at least three times in the closing minutes of the game due to three and out of the O. You could tell from their play on the field and their condition coming off the field they were exhausted. The health of the first team D was placed in jeopardy by a total lack of common sense by CM and his staff- this unit which has played some excellent football is critical for the rest of our season. The O play calling in the closing minutes - successive off tackle calls - and three and out also made no sense. Why were we asking our most productive back to take that punishment from the OU line and risk his injury? Why wasn’t Brunson or other backs playing in that situation? Why not at least vary the running plays? Why
wasn’t Henry H given an opportunity to run our offense for at least a portion of the 4th Q? That type of experience is critical for the future of the program. Why was
Brett Gabbert even on the field for the latter portion of the 4th Q given his injury history and how important he is to the team for the rest of the season? CM said he only took 63 players to the EMU game due to injuries. Even if this is true it emphasizes our injury situation. BTW I cannot believe that is an accurate statement. You always carry a full complement of travel team players due to potential game injury situations and to give additional players travel experience. If this statement is true it is a very negative assessment of our lack of depth and poor recruitment- or a failure of our coaches to " coach up " our two’s and threes to even play in limited situations. Our AD for the long range good of the program needs to have the balls to confront CM and his staff for what happened in the 4th Q Saturday. CM and his old school ego driven myopic approach to game day decision has to change.
Given we were up 30-6 in the very beginning of the 4th quarter Gabbert shouldn’t be on the field at all. If
you can’t trust your backup QB to execute handoffs since that is all we were doing, then he shouldn’t be on the roster. The whole 4th quarter pissed me off in every way, shape and form. Largely because I felt
we were taking unnecessary injury risks as others pointed out. One can be happy about a dominant win over our biggest conference rival and still have criticism and concerns over certain aspects of game and personnel management. Especially when the game was well in hand. The two, joy with the win, and concerns, are not mutually exclusive.
Some absolutely hilarious takes coming from people after a dominant win over a rival.
Laughable to suggest an AD confront a coach about in game strategy- in any sport for that matter.
Good win. Be happy. Onto CMU.
Haha! You knew better than that.
RedHawk Review- you must not been at the game or watched the 4th Q especially the last 10 minutes
Chuck’s endgame strategy has always been kooky. I don’t like the approach (especially keeping in starters just to go into a turtle offense) but I can’t argue against the results. However maddening it is, the dude wins in MAC play.
Most teams don’t start subbing their 2s on offense until they’re up 4 scores. We weren’t up 4 scores yet, the first teamers still needed to be in the game. If we get either of those 2 reviews that we should’ve gotten, the margin would’ve been wider.
nice win. Agree was beyond stupid to have Gabbert and other starters in the game so long. Back ups need reps.
Press needs to ask CM about this.
