Are we Hostile?

You have to wonder where this stuff comes from?

It was just a month ago that you could have heard a pin drop in Millett.

I’d like to think this is due to the viral swim team clip

I graduated in ‘12 and on the rare occasion basketball got a crowd because of free pizza, or a free t-shirt the students really didn’t know how to be great fans. What I like about the last few games is that the students showed up and knew what to do.

I hope the blue hairs or ushers aren’t shushing the creative shit talkers.

This is what happens when you win. Yall remember hockey back in the 00s? Students had to camp out to get seats, Rico used to buy pizzas for them. Hottest seat in the CCHA. Well, Millett’s the new Goggin thanks to what Steele’s built.

Miamians love sports. Our football, basketball, and hockey programs have not earned the support of our students, alums, or townies for big chunks of this century, but this stretch of hoops shows that we can go all out with the best of them.

What is the M in New York?

And what is that in Mississippi?

Mercyhurst. I will say that I sat near their section in Millett, and their fans were freaking annoying.

But Mercyhurst is in Pennsylvania. Odd. Though there aren’t a lot of college basketball teams in the state of New York I guess.

Mississippi Valley St., consistently one of the worst teams in D1.

This is from when the crowd was mostly Knolls of Oxford residents yelling at people to sit down.

There are 22 Division 1 college basketball teams in NY State

I think that green M for New York is Manhattan College. Weirdly enough, Manhattan College is in the Bronx, but that could explain the hostility.

There are parts of Riverdale…which is in the Bronx…..that actually are part of Manhattan. Their City Council member is from Manhattan, for instance.Manhattan College is in Riverdale.

Jokes aside, it’s a nice neighborhood. I ran a NYRR cross country for old people meet at Van Cortlandt a couple of years ago and really enjoyed it.

Manhattan College may have been the inventor of the 7th inning stretch.

Might be the old Mercyhurst logo that ESPN still uses:

Yep.The Jaspers.
