Beautiful. Absolutely beautiful. We’ve seen if for football, obviously for hockey. I never thought I’d see it for men’s bball.
That is true. It’s just bizarre that we received way more positive attention by playing one of our worst overall games of the season.
Now the target is firmly affixed to Miami’s back. I was in Chicago during the Jordan era; an NBA team could go 2-80, but so long as those 2 Ws were against the Bulls, it was worth it.

As far as our MAC opponents go, I think the target was already firmly on Miami’s back as soon as they started conference play undefeated. Wright State, BG, Toledo, and now Kent State, have all done huge promotions to get fans/students to the Miami game.
The only new thing is that the students will now be able to chant “overrated” if Miami loses.

What’s ironic is that Dickie V was enraged that we didn’t get an at-large bid in 2005 and was one of our staunchest defenders.

That’s a good thing. If an undefeated Miami draws a few hundred more butts to the seats, and they add a couple more thousands to the coffers, everyone benefits.

Why should it? We got screwed by the NIT last year and suffered 15 years in basketball purgatory. This is our time. And, it’s not like we are ranked in every poll so we still have work to do.
