Maybe not that, but Idaho’s relatively new arena is beautiful and features Pacific Northwest timber throughout.
You people are so short sighted. I’m @YellowNumber5 will agree with me that a casino should be part of the Cook Field complex. The university’s cut of the profits will have us at the top of the NIL heap.
I wanted the damn thing on a floating barge on 8 mile. We could just be the venue anywhere. Just float the damn boat up or down the creek. Yes there’d be gambling. But also dubious shows with third rate entertainers.
=>Dam up Four Mile Creek or put at Hueston Woods?
The idea was a floating arena/casino that could go up and down 8 mile and connect to the Ohio River so we’d have a home court advantage anywhere we went. Like all my grand ideas, it was shut down although I’d like to think it more viable than knocking down the president’s house. It prolly was not, but still…
Ps, can my NIL donation go to getting Swoop a new costume? That thing looks moth eaten and raggedy AF
Man, could I sit down and have a conversation about parking and the impact of economic development in cities for hours.
Swoop is fine, but he’ll never replace the SFB in my affections.
You’d get along well with DC#2. He can discuss transit and housing policy for hours.
Wow! That’s beautiful! Right next to the Kibbie Dome where they used to play basketball after that stadium got a dome and they left old Bohler Gym. I watched outdoor football there in 1974 and saw a couple basketball games in the old barn.
I bet the new arena has great acoustics for concerts!
I remember visiting Siena on my honeymoon. The tour guide told us that apartments and the ground-floor garage spaces below apartments rent separately, and garage spaces usually rent for more than an entire apartment.
I parked in an absolutely huge underground garage in Cádiz, right off the main road into downtown and a very short walk from where the Hop on Hop Off bus picks up. It cost me about €6 for the whole afternoon. Once you pay at the kiosk the gate opens automatically to let you out. All the cars were hidden from view…no big asphalt lot or looming six story garage.
What about asking our great friends in OKL - the Miami Indian tribe - to sponsor/own a casino next to the hotel / arena and part of the funds from the casino go to Red Brick Legacy?
And they can sell diesel and gas w/o federal taxes and route the margin to RBL.
Would take a land transfer snd an Act of Congress to re-establish long gone tribal recognition. I don’t think the composition of this Congress is would predispose it to be doing that sort of thing.
We will put Yellow 5 on it. Man of vision.
Many big cities where space is at a premium have parking below the buildings, rather than separate parking structures. I have once parked 8 floors below ground. I’m sure this is cost prohibitive, but I hope it’s how they do the parking for this new development. Could go a long way toward maintaining some green space.
I always felt that all the green space around the walk into Millett from the street, made it feel more… can I use the word…majestic?
=>More leaked renderings of versions of the new Log Cabin themed basketball arena. (I WILL NOT reveal my sources, but they go to the highest levels of the university’s admin).

The top of your third render showing the ceiling with the moon motif looks like the side of my van. Nice. Real nice.
Looks like a fire hazard.
