About the Ft.Myers Classic

This tournament is divided into two sections, power conference schools and others. We are one of the others. We played at Michigan as part of this tournament , the rest of the tourney is in Ft.Myers and we play Monday and Tuesday and can win our part of the tourney with two wins.

As for internet coverage of our games, It is being covered by PTB ( Pass Tha Ball). They are offering an all tournament pass for $26.98. I did not see anything about buying an individual game pass. I guess the pass would get you the power conference games as well.

We play the Siena Saints (3-2) at 11:00 AM Monday. Win and we would face the winner of the Jacksonville/Mercer game at 1:30 Tuesday. Lose and we would face the loser of that game at 11:00 on Tuesday.

Looks like the power conference games are on FS1, so I don’t think so.

=>Mercer beat Trinity Baptist 101-4? That has to be a record defense!

Ducharme is a Xavier transfer

Corrected I think it was 43.

=>When was last time Miami won a tournament? Was it the 2007 MAC tournament?

I know mine is going to winner of a 4 team multi-team event round robin since then, but I don’t think that involved winning a trophy.

I think technically we won the “Miami invitational” or whatever it was last year

Just a few things about today. Many of our players parents made the trip, plus there were quite a few Miami Floridians there. We got off to a great start and our fans and bench made a lot of noise giving us little advantage over Siena.

Between games we ate lunch from food trucks which were set up outside of one door on a fenced in area. I had a cheese steak and a pop for $21,which was expensive but really good.

While I was outside eating Blackbird joined me and informed me that a Jacksonville bigman had destroyed a backboard with a dunk during warmups and the second game was being delayed. It ended up being an hour and a half delay. We left at halftime with Jacksonville way ahead and were surprised that Mercer came back and won in OT. Their point guard is both very fast and very strong and could be a problem for us. Their post player is also strong and is a good inside scorer that worries me. 1:30 tomorrow ( Championship Tuesday!)

Tuesday!
