A Somewhat Decent Proposal

Hi there Miami fans,

I am an Ohio Bobcat temporarily invading your space with a proposal. I got a little too excited for the MAC Championship game in Detroit and bought my (two) tickets before I knew which team would have which sideline. As such, I’m smack dab in the middle of a sea of red in Section 106. (From what I’ve read, 124 through 129ish is the Bobcat side and 103 through 109ish is the Redhawk side.)

If any of you are in a similar position and have two tickets on the “wrong” sideline, I’d love to make a trade. We don’t have to go through the whole rigamarole of exchanging tickets on TicketMaster. We could just use our tickets to enter and then head on over to the other seats.

Let me know if you’re in a similar position and want to swap! Also let me know if I’m just being a dumb newbie and everyone sits pretty much wherever and this usually sparsely-attended event.

Happy to switch with you. My seats are close to the restrooms and easy access to the concessions. I’ve included a pic below of the field view

Bobcat, I hope that you are successful in your search. You are wise to try to make an exchange. If worst comes to worst you would certainly be able to find an open seat on the “right” side of the field but it is unlikely to be comparable.

Ford Field closes off the upper level leaving approximately 34,000 seats of the lower bowl for what will likely be a crowd of 20,000. I suspect that the majority of those will be on the Ohio side as well meaning that it might be challenging to find a spot inside the 20s.

Thanks for the advice! Maybe I’ll enjoy the game with you lot for a bit then head over to my crowd after the first quarter or so and just take the seating hit.

The folks who will be at the game are certainly likely to be passionate partisans but not likely to be louts. I would certainly hope and expect that you wouldn’t be treated to anything more than good natured ribbing if you stay in your original seats. Last year we had some Toledo partisans in our row and I don’t think they had to take any guff.

Well, spit. I just brought this up to my wife because she bought the tix, and she sent me this message from the University which says to buy tix in sections 125-129…

The old “Bobcat fan looking to exchange tickets” scam. As old as time itself. And obviously AI.

Last year there was a solid crowd, but still plenty of open seats, especially outside the 20 yard lines.

We moved from our seats to be by the marching band. It was a blast.

The view is great from anywhere. Your seat options will be fine. Your team may not be. ;^)

Appreciated! This is exactly what I was hoping to hear. “Sparsely attended. Sit wherever, bro!”
