According to an ESPN report, ‘great’ power school QBs cost $3M. An average QB costs $1M. These are per year figures. On top of scholarship money. Elsewhere for high-end players:

RB = $300K-$700K

WR = $400K-$800K

TE = $200K-$400K

OT = $500K-$1M

Edge = $500K-$1M

CB = $300K-$800K

S = $300K-$700K

What about the waterboy?

Our WR who went to Texas Tech reportedly got $900K, the one who went to Minnesota got $5K.

The number I heard was $1.1MM. Splitting hairs at that point, but I’ll give him his second comma

I was told it was 975K for Virgil.

Hope he’s worth it. More than all but one of our coaches. CFB is all messed up.

At 900k I read he’s expected to be their #1 WR. At $900,000 and 60 catches that’s $15,000/catch. Would guess he came to the Miami at the right time to restart his career. Bet a bunch of our current transfers in saw that and future portals are watching that close. Just don’t unpack your bags.

Reggie Virgil had 57 catches and Texas Tech made the playoff. Was probably a fair trade for all involved.
