2027 schedule finalized

So the next two years we open with three straight P5 games.

Correct…and Miami is the only MAC school to do so. Tough way to start those next two seasons.

Any good paydays w those P5 away games?

If we’ve truly turned the corner and are near the top of G5 it also provides great opportunity. But it is a murderer’s row if we’re just a decent (mediocre) G5 team.

San Jose State and Washington just canceled their 2028 game. Both Miami and SJSU have one open OOC slot left in 2028.

If Chuck wins:
-another MAC championship and a bowl he will have some bigger school interest.

-if he does all the the above but does so by winning out this year and then has us playing in NY level bowl and winning, it’s a done deal. And the bigger interest is guaranteed by many places.

And how can anyone not look at him at that point from the higher level.

He’d have won 2 Nati’s at the D2 level, been the top coordinator at the D1 level on the team that played in the national title game, and would have 2 MAC titles with wins over 2P5 programs (and maybe another if it’s a NY level bowl win.)

He starts looking a bit like Leopold from Kansas at that point on paper I would think. He’s rebuilt and run a clean program and that plus the results would do it.

If Chuck somehow ended up @ Northwestern, week 1 next year would be wild.

I think that’s a distinct possibility.

NW: 1.1 million
ND: 1.25 million
UW: 1.6 million
UC: 0 (but 24 is a home game)
Mizzou: -200K (but it’s a home game)

I would love to see CM’s press conferences with a National audience!:joy::joy::joy: Love him or hate him, his press conferences are pure gold, especially when he’s pissed.

I might be crazy (cue the laugh track now) but as far as coaches go, Chuck seems as normal as most I’ve met. They all are a little nuts on some level. Comes with the money and the wrangling of kids. Chuck isn’t as crazy as say Treadwell was. There was a time he had the football team not lifting weights. Like got rid of the need for strength training. He also tried to run the option but never got the talent to do so. That’s crazy. Ps, he is also the last Miami football coach to beat a ranked team (we beat #23 Ohio under him.) That’s actually extremely crazy in retrospect.

I think if CM has a VERY good year, he might go somewhere as a DC.

If he wanted to be a P5 coordinator, I think he realistically could have left at any point in the past few years, so that doesn’t seem particularly likely to me

Chuck is not going anywhere.

Google my name and about a dozen embarrassing pressers come up that would turn off any fanbase.

Are you very famous? I’m Googling but nothing turns up…

You have to be kidding right. Almost all of these coaches have big egos

They sure do… but how many have come out and said “if I had 82 picks, I’d pick all 82 of their guys before mine.”

OR

“I’m sure the idiot fans and media thought the game was over.”

OR

“That’s how cheap this school and this conference is” referring to the fact there is no trophy for Miami-OU

OR

take your pick of a dozen others

And yet his guys would run through a brick wall for him every Saturday. If I was an administrator, I would care much more about that than a few rants to the media. None of which I’ve really had any issues with btw.

And I’m not sure what Chuck’s future is, but I don’t think he’ll leave to be a DC at a P5 job. I think he loves being a head coach and I’ve never been under the impression that money motivates him. He could have stayed at ND and made twice as much money.
