2026 Transfer Portal (MIAMI NEWS ONLY)

Probably a good move. If he got a nice check, he can go there and use it like a year in AAU. Average 16-18 ppg and get another bag with a better team.

Penn State has a curtain covering their upper deck almost all season, he’ll fit right in after a few years at Millett.

Glad he’s getting a bag, and likely some playing time at a Big Ten program. Best of luck to him.

Got an elite 33% free throw percentage on 51 attempts.

Had offers out of high school from Indiana, Nebraska, Georgetown, Xavier among others.

I think Steele has earned trust in the last two years with results and with his portal signings, but can’t help but be a little underwhelmed with our two additions.

I hope I look back at this in 10 months and feel really silly for being disappointed, but I was hoping our success would spring board us into a portal and NIL tier higher than this. Both Elam and Copeland could be totally solid, maybe even good, MAC guys, but after all this talk of building a program that isn’t just a MAC contender, but a contender with other top mid-majors, I just don’t see the steps forward with these two.

Copeland started against us in Muncie this past season. No FG attempts and 2 boards in 15 minutes.

Could we still add another portal guy, or is this most likely it?

I agree. I have been an outspoken supporter of Steele and I like Stevie Elam addition. But, I have to say how is this all we could get? It was obvious vs Tennessee we need size. Why didn’t we add some? Is Robbins going to start at Center?

In fairness, I had ZERO interest or expectations for Miami’s MBB team prior to this year’s season and basically sighed when the schedule wasn’t released until like 2 weeks before the first game. Shows what I know.

@Browns Portal closes on April 21.

I very much admire your hoops knowledge but I think you are wrong here. I suspect we have two dudes who are under the radar gold. Save this post and let’s see in a year.

So the question becomes, with a roster of 12, are we now done?

So where is this “stud big man store” Steele is supposed to go to?

Steele implied we were only gonna add 2

You got 2 million or more?

I will give Steele the benefit of the doubt on Copeland. He averaged 6 boards and 7 points a game in the last 6 games of the season. Bigs can take time to develop, and I see some statistical promise in Copeland and saw a few good things in Robbins this season to think that they’ll contribute more their 2nd year. Plus, Copeland’s not pointing at the camera in his post picture. I appreciate that.
