Follow the NIL, follow the NIL
Follow follow follow follow follow the NIL
Is there a database that says what NIL each Miami player is getting? How would I follow it?
Agreed. Please start the players that give us the best chance to win as many games as possible.
I’m not sure on the exact number and i definitely do not know what TG is getting paid but no way they do not start Mccomb who is getting north of 500k
I have zero idea who is the best QB amongst TG, McComb, and Haevner. As I previously stated, I think the QB that puts us in the best position to win is who should get that job. And while it is perhaps the reality, just because one QB is getting 500K shouldn’t be the driving force behind who starts. That should be decided in practice.
Is there a database/guess-a-base somewhere that has what our guys are making via NIL?
How do we know (do we reasonably know?) how much he’s making?
He was recruited by P4 school but was “only” a 3 star rated player.
TG was a 3 star as well by On3, ESPN and 247
Who wants to guess what he’s getting in NIL $$$???
Unlike employee salaries, universities have pretty much ruled unanimously that revenue share and NIL are exempt from public records, so there is no public factual record. Considering revenue share is direct state dollars, in the case of public universities, going to individuals, its a terrible decision.
I worked in government for a decade and my salary was published online and our vendor payments were also public. No reason that revenue share shouldn’t be. If you want to shield the “above the cap” fake NIL through your MMR (Learfield in most cases), whatever, but the revenue share should absolutely have to be published.
AGREE 100% HH!!
I trust who told me Mccombs NIL numbers which were somewhere around (700-800k) and I agree that the best QB should play but it would feel like a waste of money if he ends up being the backup….
McCombs will hopefully start. Of course…If all goes well, we may only have him for a year…Maybe two.
Again, wonder that TG’s getting relative to McComb.
Not sure if the disparity in pay is a reflection of what Coach thinks about McComb (who he’s never seen thrown a college pass) or an indictment of TG and what he really thinks about his abilities.
Wouldn’t it be a ball buster if he’s getting a fraction of what McComb’s getting and beats him out!
Think about the players in the portal we might of gotten with the money we spent on McComb that could have come in and really made a difference. (That is IF TG winds up starting.)
McComb was a 4* from ESPN, their #32 QB in the ‘25 class
Eddie, I don’t know why I’d say “McCombs will hopefully start” other than we’d look kind of All Pro Dumb Ass to have paid McComb a small fortune (for us) and he winds up riding the pine. While the guy we all loved coming in as a freshman (1st Team Indiana All State) and who we’re paying a fraction of what McComb’s getting kicks his butt.
Like most I’d just say start the best one of the bunch.
I know how important QB is in the whole scheme of things but to give him that kind of money and he’s never thrown a college pass is an interesting risk all the involved coaches. Just think about what happened last year.
Last year’s starter was a classic “head case.”
I was at an event where Chuck spoke in late June and he made it clear that Heavner was the #3 - he stated that the starter will be either Tommy or McComb. He even told the group that both could get a shot early in the season.
Perhaps I should have said…“I hope he wins the job.” I believe his upside is the highest of our options, and I would like to begin that trajectory sooner rather than later.
I could see playing both TG and McComb early and see how things go.
Fully agree, as someone still in government whose salary is publicly available.
