Given what one person said on another thread, that amount, 700K would have been half or over half, of all the money Miami has/had to spend. I wonder how flush with cash UT was/is. Obviously they weren’t afraid to put this much on the table for Blyden. My guess is he got at least double, probably triple that.

And let us not forget, in the absence of game-changing legislation, etc., etc., the stakes ($$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$) only go up next year. My feeling is that a fairly large number of NIL donors may realize that they will have to pony up even more cash next year to keep the programs they support viable.
That bigger carrot called for will also have to swim against the realization that their donations over the past year have gone to mercenaries, many of whom will move on to greener pastures
 their “investment” clearly lacks staying power
more like a private partnership with a capital call option.

The portal season that baffles me is Kent’s. They weren’t that far off the pace in the MAC this year and have coaching continuity. But it looks like they basically flushed the entire roster. Did Senderoff decide he didn’t have enough to keep up with Akron and Miami? Did his players get happy feet after he had a rather public flirtation with the Fordham job? A bit of both? However it parses, it seems odd.
