2026 MAC (ONLY) Basketball Portal

That’s a pretty weak outcome for a really good player. If that’s his cap, that freshman who left us could be in trouble.

Who knows how much they paid him.

Regarding Freitag–Oregon St was the 4th place team in the WCC which sent three teams to the NCAA tourney and was ranked as the 7th best conference this season. That is big time hoops any way you look at it. And I’m sure he will be paid very well to be a starter there as a result.

Still a little puzzling as a landing spot especially considering Sabol landed and Providence (by every metric Freitag was better than Sabol). Also Oregon State is joining the new PAC 12 next year which in spite of what they’d have you believe, is not a power conference. Plus he came Wisconsin who just lost a ton of guard scoring so I’d think they’d at least give him a look. Whatever. He’s not one of ours and I’m sure he’s being well compensated. Just interesting. Maybe he got dinged for quitting on Buffalo for the last ten games or so this past season.

Oboh from Buffalo to Penn State. Penn State loading up on MAC guys.

Maybe not a “true” power conference but that is going to be a very solid conference. NET ratings for this year include:

Gonzaga 15th

Utah St 27th

San Diego St 49

Boise St 59 (that’s a very good top 4 teams)

Colorado St 88 (Akron was 71st / Miami was 90th)

Fresno 129 (Toledo was 130)

Washington St 140 (BG 144)

Oregon St 179 (Kent 161)

Texas St 191 (UMass 198 / Buffalo 203)

Just for comparisons sake with MAC.

Medley from Kent to East Carolina.

Compared to the “goings and comings,” Miami has done better than the rest of the MAC. Yes, losing Elmer and Byers has hurt but, numerically, we have done OK and will have less to mix into our team.

Apparently Blyden is going to Kansas

ECU is terrible. I hope he’s getting a ton of money.

Miami’s final NET ranking was right around 60. I think those are KenPom rankings?

Portal closes tomorrow., correct?

yes correct–those were the final KenPom net ratings. I wasn’t clear on that.

Yes the portal closes tomorrow but that doesn’t mean players have to be committed–just that they are officially in the portal.

“multi” millionaire if he’s signing at KU. So much for the argument that all these idiotic talking heads used against us all season that “we played nobody”, “team isn’t that good”, “conference is awful”. Multiple players going P5, potentially playing pro ball, etc.

Ok..got it.

And women’s portal closes today. For players to enter, with a few exceptions. They can sign at anytime.

Bowling Green adds Christ Essandoko. Was at South Carolina this past season. Dude is a load at 7’0 280.

Ball State adds Babtunde Durodola from Temple.
