Hopefully the staff is using the 2 players poached by Toledo as an extra incentive for Wednesday’s game.

Saline lost in the regional finals to powerhouse Cass Tech 42-28. Carr had 2 TD passes, 2 INTs (1 a pick 6 that broke a 14-14 tie in the 1st half), and caught a TD pass.
I’m no recruiting analyst, but while he has a lot of natural athletic ability and can throw a great ball, I think he needs to be redshirted.
This class is officially in nose dive territory. Tommy Carr to Michigan. We’ll see what that means for his teammate Harris.

Early signing day is 12/3 so not much time to fix this classes losses. I suppose we have some contingency plans but QBs like Carr aren’t going to be replaced in the HS signing class, nor are the OL and DL we lost. But we need to see if we can pick up a few to replace these. Perhaps poach from another mid-major class. I don’t mind filling in a few holes with portal players, but I prefer to build the old fashioned way. So if we had players that might have been our second choice that have verballed elsewhere, all is fair in love and recruiting, go after them.

And this is somewhat related but since Carr is gone, this to me makes it even more imperative to see what we have in Gotkowski and Ehrlich in real game action against UB and BSU. I don’t think it was a stretch to think Carr may have been coming in targeted, perhaps to start as a freshman. If that was the case, and he is now gone, Hesson is graduating, we need to know can we roll next year with Gotkowski, Ehrlich or both as QB1.

I think this question might be suitable for its own topic but in light of the events of the past two weeks, I’ll raise the issue here.

Yes, we will get a certain number of portal guys. But remember we don’t have some unlimited pot of money, unless you are going to endow several portal positions. Those need to be targeted for positions of immediate need.
