With four Spaniards on the roster, I hope Millett will start serving tapas on game days.
fresh sliced Jamón Serrano and Jamón Ibérico at a minimum
No one does cured meats like the Iberians ~ yanksalex after the 2021 Frisco Football Classic
Be more interesting when they addd numbers and faces. Also, Anna Hurst, we hardly knew ye.
This is a roster to be excited about!! I know Glenn is!
Deeper and more experienced roster - add Box’s excellent coaching skills and it could be a good year- how quickly can they come together as a team will be the question- and yes Spanish concession items!
Just rebrand the ham sandwich as bocadillo de jamon
The soda may not be carbonated, but is the paella properly seasoned?
We need a 100 Montaditos uptown with Rioja, and an assortment of Sanborn sherries, and Estrella Galicia on tap!
I sat with her folks at the opening game at Coastal Carolina. Very nice people! Sorry to see they’re no longer part of our program.
Just three returning players (one of whom was injured for basically the whole season). I think the team is probably going to be competitive again next year, but it’s so hard to get invested when it’s a completely new roster of random one year players every season.
This is the new era of college professional sports. You invest in the university, the team, the staff, and those on the court, no matter how short the stays may be.
Many of our players are becoming “pass through Miami alums” like Tina Louise, Nick Lachey, and Kate Voegele. They had a toasted roll at the Student Center and a bagel uptown and were on their way to somewhere else. For some their brief stay was pleasant. For some not so much..
And some have and are going to find out they made a mistake by leaving Miami.
I think some may not actually leave Miami. Some probably just leave Miami athletics - possibly because of a lack of talent to compete, incompatibility with coaches, a deeper commitment to academics, a change of personal priorities, or possibility just burn out. It would be interesting to see who has fallen into those categories and stayed at Miami.
That is not why most who have left, have left. They have left to chase the money. Which is fine. I don’t begrudge them that. But it may be a decision they regret.
I’m talking about the Anna Hursts of the world. A serious Fisher School student who only got occasional last minute mop up time as a freshman. Did she leave to chase $?
I was not talking of Hurst. I can’t speak to her decision. She was a walk on. Could be a myriad of reasons.
Don’t we have more under-performers than stars disappear? If so, I’m just wondering if those kids leave Miami or just stay on campus as students.
