I noted elsewhere that the 1/5 through 1/16 stretch will be rough.
Last year we had only five MAC games with students on campus, this year we’ll have six (plus Akron is the Saturday before classes restart). That stretch from 1/5 to 1/16 will be critical.
First half is much more difficult than the second half.
Whichever team’s roster holds up the best will be the favorite to win. What a grind.
Provided the MAC keeps improving I really like this new schedule.

Hoping to make that Saturday 1/9 game at the Jar to avenge that monstrosity from two seasons ago.
22 game schedule, but only 4 Saturday home games. One of those is the week of Christmas and the other is the day after New Year’s, so effectively only 2 for fans who have other commitments during the holidays.
J Term is an absolute killer for basketball home schedule. just brutal. 5 Home games with no students and 10 total games out of 22 league games when students are out of session. Only 2 Saturday MAC home games with students. While the stretch 1/5 to 1/16 is really tough, having 4 league games in December is going to be tough as well as we don’t know how Ipsaro will be by then. Was hoping league play wouldn’t start until late December like last year. And the 3 away game trek thru Michigan isn’t great either at end of season. This schedule layout is pretty rough IMO. And the back to back away Mass/OU is going to be a long week of travel for the squad.

Some of the students (maybe a lot of them) will trickle back into Oxford on January 23 for the Akron Home game.

No. Been a long time coming. The MAC was one of the last conferences with a more traditional tournament
Didn’t the MAC do this for a bit several years back?
It’s rough for everyone else in the MAC. Why? Because every team has to play Miami twice.
