We did have a 1 run lead in the 7th inning of the first game and a 2 run lead in the 5th inning of game 2. Late pitching collapses. Very inexperienced roster. 2 returning starters and a couple of subs moving up. One returning pitcher. Only 3 girls who were regular contributors back. Then starting off with the toughest schedule ever. We may have plenty of talent on the roster, but it could be a very rough start. Judge this team by how we perform during the MAC season.

Agree. Canât compare this team to the past three. Last yearâs power at the plate was otherworldly. And weâve gotten used to a single dominant pitcher. Maddie looked fine against Maryland and Lea held up well against ASU until she got to about the 125 pitch range. Iâm pretty certain yesterdayâs bottom of the fifth will prove to be an anomaly, as well as a learning tool.
This is a schedule that would have been better suited for last yearâs team. This yearâs team will be forged in a blast furnace.

Given the loss of offensive firepower to graduation and the portal, Iâm pleasantly surprised Miami put up 11 runs against two different P4 pitching staffs. At the same time Iâm slightly disappointed with our pitching performances, though it is only 2 games. I still think Reeves and the JC transfer will be the strength of this yearâs team. Given all that, in regards to the MAC, Miami might be reloading as opposed to rebuilding.

Tied at 3 after 6 innings. Golembiewski hit a 2 run HR in the 5th.
Miami loses 3-4 in 8 innings.

This is a pretty good day. Did anybody else notice the 4 national champion banners at ASUâŚwe have played 4 P4 teams and actually had a chance to win all of those games late in the game. We can put up some runs.

Update - 5-5 after 7
Had the winning run at 3rd with no outs. Oh singled. Then the Utsh pitcher struck out the side.
Update: Utes take a 6-5 lead. Heading to the bottom of 8.
Update: Miami ties it 6-6 and leaves bases loaded. So close every inning! Heading to top of 9.
Update: Utes take the lead again 7-6 on a Sac fly. Going to bottom of 9.

We could have very well been 4-1 on that road trip instead of 1-4. Had that one nightmare inning in the first ASU game but were right there til the very end in the other losses. And we got our revenge against the Devils.
