Yes…It’s back for the 31st consecutive year. The $250 entry fee has been permanently waived, and the champion wins a 30-day stay in NickSkin’s basement (food and bathroom privileges included).
The rules HAVE CHANGED. Each week, you must pick the winner of one NFL game. The point spread is not involved. However, you can only pick a team one time. You are allowed ONE incorrect pick. The second pick eliminates you.
The deadline for picking (and posting your pick) is generally prior to the kickoff of that game (unlike Noon Saturday for “Pick The Underdog”). Thus, if you forget to pick a game Sunday, you may be able to pick a team in Monday night’s game.
Picking a heavy favorite helps your chances, although you won’t be able to use that team again. Generally, there is only one player left (the Champion) after about 6-9 weeks. Last year, however, the contest ended after five weeks.
I signed up and picked Denver but I can’t tell if it was counted or not. Somebody who understands how this thing works let me know if it got my pick and let me know here.
I created my account and went to the week one matrix, made a pick which, immediately upon doing so I realized it was for the wrong team, then looked for a way to switch my selection. Seeing none, I logged off with the notion that I surely earned my first ding for the season. HOWEVER…
When I logged in again before the Thursday night game began just to double check, I discovered that if you click again on the choice you made it will DESELECT it. You then select your preferred choice. Hoorah for second chances! Hope this helps others.
I guess I didn’t realize that you can only pick against a team once! The team I was trying to pick beat a team that lost to one of my earlier picks and it wasn’t allowed. Different twist…at least to me.
Same here. I accidentally picked the Giants to beat the Redskins on the road in Week 1. I wouldn’t pick the Giants to win at home against anyone right now.
