Plot the sites on a map, pretty hilarious.
How does Coastal Carolina’s baseball field not have teal turf?
All AQs have been awarded. Miami is the 3rd best 4 seed based on RPI
Fun fact, there have been a whopping 3 NCAA regionals hosted in northern states since the 2015 tourney (Indiana State 2023, Notre Dame 2021, Minnesota 2018) out of 160 in that span.
Oregon and Oregon State both are hosting and I would call them Northern states on some ways
The big ten getting the PAC teams was clearly a baseball move
I’m hoping we get UC in our regional
Fair, though west coast college baseball is a different beast altogether from the Rust Belt.
The Regional sites were fairly predictable based on national ranking.
Bracket and seed predictions
Knoxville Regional - Tennessee (13), West Virginia, Nebraska, and Miami U.
Other regionals of interest.
Hattiesburg Regional - Southern Miss (15), Alabama, Cincinnati, and Holy Cross
Baton Rouge Regional - LSU (5), Florida, Miami of Florida, and Wright State
8 SEC teams hosting. 3 Ohio teams ( not OSU) is quite an accomplishment.
SEC 8
ACC 3
Big Ten 2
Big Twelve 0
Other
Sunbelt 2
PAC Two 1
They are projecting X as one of the last four teams out, which means either 3 or all 4 of the Joe Nuxhall Classic teams made it to the NCAA’s. When you can schedule teams that are both close and quality, that’s win-win. I wish we had this type of tourney dialed in for hoops. Maybe soon, we will…
Finally! A Miami team’s selection show watch party is finally shown when we know we’re getting a bid.
Hope Miami’s watching a feed that isn’t delayed by a minute like East Carolina! Big oops.
How is Little Rock, with a record of 24-32, not the worst 4-seed?
We’ve got UC in our regional!
Miami vs. Tennessee
Cincinnati vs. Wake Forest
The selection committee chair’s school (SE Louisiana) was one of the first four teams out.
When was the last time that happened? That being said, you don’t usually see a mid-major AD leading a selection committee.
Probably the last time the chair wasnt a P4 commissioner
