6-5 CG Leshawn Stowers from Peoria Central. Midpro AAU
Glad they mentioned that Caitlin was in the middle. Got confused for a minute.
Basketball has really been on fire recruiting. Great get
This is why I’m not letting my other sports woes get me down. Basketball is moving into pole position to be our number one sport. Been a long time but I’d fly anywhere to watch them come March.
“The 6’5” Stowers is a dynamic player. He can guard any position from PG to Center. He scores it well on the low post and he is a midrange assassin. He’s on the radar of a lot of Division 1 schools after he put together some big performances this summer.
You can’t mention high school talent in central Illinois without mentioning Stowers. He’s a absolute gym rat whatever college gets him will be getting a diamond in the rough. A kid with a stellar work ethic in the gym and in the classroom. "
Glad to have gotten him!
As an aside, is IU Indy what used to be IUPUI?
That’s correct. And IPFW is now just Purdue University Fort Wayne.
Good list if schools to beat.
We beat out Incarnate Word?
Word!
(I’m a Time Traveller from the 90’s. Had to do it.)
We should play them! Cardinals vs. RedHawks!
What excites me most about his scouting report is he’s a guy that plays bigger than he is. We need some physicality in the Guard/Wing positions and hopefully Leshawn brings that!
From the videos I’ve watched, he looks like a dual threat that can shoot it, and get to the rim. Smooth stroke. Starts his shot a bit lower than I’d love, but that’s correctible. Has some muscle on him already, and seems like a kid that will be able to finish through some contact. What I like the most is that in the videos, he scores, and immediately turns to get back and play defense. Not a lot of extra chatter/flexing/talking. Looks like someone who just wants to ball. Love it! Welcome Leshawn!
Know somebody that played at Bradley and he offered his congratulations on landing Stowers, unprompted. Said it’s a steal to get him from Bradley’s backyard and that besides his on-court success he’s a great kid too.
