Anybody gotta problem with guys whose las names end ina vowel, my boy Vinnie would lika talk with ya…
A couple of my favorite Miami player names from years past were Gino DiGiandomenico and Mwanza Wamalumba.
My favorite all-time Washington Huskies player name is Tuli Letuligasenoa, now in the NFL.
Hard to blame him lol
My hometown team, Gahanna. He’s a stud, smart and very well-disciplined. His offensive line coach is a Miami grad. Miami has been offering a lot of our boys recently. Should again be one of the better HS teams in the state.
QQ: How is “Gahanna” pronounced? Gana? Gay Anna? Guh-hahn-na?
My understanding, FWIW (and that’s usually not worth a plugged nickel), is the pronunciation is gah-HAN-nuh.
This is probably getting pedantic, but I think the first syllable is more of a “guh”
This is all very helpful as I always thought it was gooweehaaaneah.
You really never can know for sure in Ohio as I know people who pronounce “washing machine” as “warshing machine”
Excellent late pick up for the incoming class- I still think we need at least one more experienced OL portal pick up for the coming season
Jive is correct.
Another big pick up—this one for ‘26: Cayden Dees from Montgomery Catholic. I believe had approximately 12 other offers. 4.0 +. Holds school record for shot put. Plays on both sides of the line. 6’3”, 250 lbs.
Same ones who say D-troit and C-ment.
Or pronounce the word coins as “co-wins”
It’s pretty funny the more I think about it. Ohio has its own language.
goal,creek,Tousaint, Genoa, Port Clinton, etc
All interesting pronunciations around us
