The Chuck coaching tree begins!
Probably the best hire OU could make now given where the calendar is during a busy carousel, anything else and their transfer situation would be uglier.

He said he was leaving Utah. Specifically said he wasnât leaving coaching. I wouldnât either if someone wanted to offer me 8 million or more to coach and an unlimited source of funds to buy a roster. The way Kyle coaches, think Iowa with better players.
66 year old coachâŚ..interesting move by Michy
There is no tomorrow for a Michigan coach. They are expected to win the Big Ten and compete for the National Championship today.
Honestly I think itâs a pretty solid hire considering where the program is now. Frankly itâs surprising they didnât fall apart with how Moore was such a basket case, if Whittingham gives them a hard culture reset and a few good seasons itâs a success even without a deep CFP run.
Whittingham is a very good coach, but Iâm getting a lot of Mike Riley at Nebraska vibes from this hire.
Whittingham was pushed out by TPTB at Utah who were worried the official coach-in-waiting would bolt, and he was very gracious about it. He didnât say he was retiring. And goodness knows that man is the fittest 66-year-old in history. Not like theyâre hiring a guy whoâs visibly a walking distillery.
Given the circumstances, given the events under Harbaugh and Sherrone, UM couldnât afford anyone but a coach who has a clean record. This gives them a coach with a clean record who is also a proven winner. Really I think this is a good hire.
Utah also accepted private equity money and the private equity money wants the coach-in-waiting to no longer wait. Whittingham is against private equity. Michigan has made their case against private equity so that was probably attractive.
Just wondering when Fickell is going to get 86âdâŚ
And they didnât poach my âside teamâ by dragging Jedd Fisch out of Washington. Heâs got it going on again in Seattle!!
Heâs baaaaaaccckkkk
Apparently Northwestern is trying to have a legit program; I wonder how long theyâll let academics interfere with athletic talent
Notre Dame lets academics interfere with athletics all the time. So does Stanford. But with Northwestern getting a new football stadium and almost $100 million from the Big10 network, might as well run it back
So he leaves Miami as OC at least in name to go to Colorado State as just TE coach. Guess money is significantly better.
this is good news
Or we are upgrading OC spot?
