Sounds like we will be losing some key contributors. Uncertain how many will opt out of the bowl game. Chuck definitely tried to be persuasive in regard to the value of finishing the season with the bowl experience.

Toledo looking to bring in Mercerās head coach. Resume is mostly from DIII/DII schools, though heās made his divisionās playoffs six times over ten seasons (including the last two FCS playoffs). OSU alum from Maumee, if it comes through itās a good hire on paper.
He appears to be a good coach from his record, but man Iād be reluctant to bring in a guy who hasnāt been in Division I the last 5 years. The world of NIL and transfer portal is just so wildly different than it is at lower divisions. I canāt imagine throwing a HC into that who has zero experience with it.

That deal has been announced by Toledo.
Interestingly, Mercer was a #6 seed in FCS playoffs this year and got drilled 47-0 by #11 South Dakota.
Talk about expectations that were dashed!
