Huge series. Conference standings are:

4 - Duluth, 28 pts, 4 games remaining

5 - SCSU, 28 pts, 2 games remaining

6 - Miami, 25 pts, 4 games remaining

Have a prime chance to get home ice in the playoffs. Even just being 5th would be nice too, avoiding the top 3 in the first round is very preferable. I originally would have put Duluth on par with those teams (UND, Denver, WMU), but they’ve struggled a bit this year, leaving them closer to last place than third.

Also, Duluth’s starting goalie is out, playing for Slovakia at the Olympics. Doesn’t seem like a huge drop-off with their backup though.

Friday game is early (5:30) to accommodate basketball afterwards.

Deluth just lost their longtime volunteer equipment manager of 44 yrs this week after a brief health battle. They will be fired up and ready to play.
