Miami plays Xavier tonight at 7. It looks like the game will be streaming on FloHoops, but a subscription may be required. Xavier’s two games so far this season have been a 20 point loss to Memphis and a 35 point loss to Utah. Miami blew out Valpo on the road and played a competitive game against Illinois. Could be a chance to pick off a power conference scalp and beat a big local team.
Does Nia Clark still play for Miami? She was going to be a great one at Miami and transferred.
Uh, she transferred to Xavier
Yea meant Xavier since I said she was gonna be good for us
Miami is leading 57-52 early in the 4th.
Miami led 57-52 at the start of the 4th, but Xavier went on a 10-0 run to take the lead. Currently 67-64 Xavier with 3:26 left. Nia Clark is Xavier’s leading scorer.
Miami up 75-71 with 21 seconds left. Miami was down 71-66
Miami storms back to win 77-73!
Peyton Scott is ridiculous. With Miami trailing 69-64 with 3 minutes to go, she scored or assisted on 12 of Miami’s points during a 13-2 run. She finished with 26 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, and 3 steals while shooting 9-14 from the field and 4-5 from 3.
Nicely done, ladies!
Ivy Wolf, who came in averaging 17 pts per game, got 8 in the first quarter and never scored again. Transfer Jordan Tuff scored 12 on 4-5 three point shooting. Vanessa Garrelts scored 6 and handled the ball flawlessly in the closing minutes against pressure.
Peyton was sensational, even blocking a Nia Clark three in the final 25 seconds, controlling the ball and getting fouled and making the free throws.
Yea us. Way to go ladies.
This is an amazing turnaround from last year
Season is early, but they are playing well. Need to keep turnovers down, but the backcourt of Peyton and Ivy Wolf certainly work well together.
Yep. 29 turnovers is unacceptable. Seems as if we could be pretty good if we took better care of the ball. Even if we had “only” 20 turnovers and made 40% of the 9 other possessions that’s a big deal. Wow, if we cut our turnovers by half or a third that would be great. I didn’t see the game, but unforced turnovers has been a trend we need to stop.
