Realistically, you can’t go to the playoff unless you win your conference if you’re a G5 team. So that should always come first, then you see where you stand.

I was happy to hear the team was angry and frustrated after the loss. It reminds me of the 2003 team that played a disappointing opener against a team many of us thought we’d beat. The team channeled that anger and frustration into 2 great weeks of practice (they had a bye after the 1st game too) and came out guns blazing in the 2nd game. Not that this team is as good, but I think we’ll be especially ready to go on Sept. 14th.

For this team to have the kind of season we all hope for the play in the trenches has to vastly improve. The O line was boderline incompetent at times and the D line had no pass rush. Back to basics!

The obvious is that they Have to protect the QB.

That 2003,Iowa team we thought we’d beat finished 6th in the polls. We finished 10th. Let’s root for Northwestern the rest of the way!
