I got around to looking her up this morning. Clara plated 2 years at Cochise Jr college in Arizona and one year at Jaxonville State so this will be her 4th year but she may well have a couple of years of eligibility remaining as I don’t know how to count the juco years after recent court rulings. Jax State plays in CUSA and were 10 and 20 last season. Looking at their team stats it looked like they just played everybody. 12 girls averaged between 14 and 27 minutes per game. While Carla averaged 8.1 ppg, the team leader averaged just 8.2 ppg. Her best stats were 35% on threes ( best on the team) and 77% on free throws. Her worst was assist to turnover ratio. Which was 26 to 41. Jaxonville State played and defeated UAB where our other 3 point shooter transfer Ashton Elley played last season.
Also worth noting that Clara was the CUSA 6th player of the year. That’s 6th Man to you old people.
Another guard. Graduated from Stow in 2024.

This one is a sneaky good pick up. I was reading online was a high level player but had 2 ACL injuries so fell off the radar. If she can get back to where she was this is a great get.
Yeah, and Scalia put up nice numbers at St. Thomas.
“I’ve had a lot of interest from D-1 schools across the nation, I’ve had lots of phone calls, interactions and visits before I got hurt and you can imagine that definitely fell off once I got hurt because one thing about recruiting is they’re not patient,” Hurst said.
“So that was definitely something that once again, I had to rely on God. I know that he’s going to put me in the right place. And so right now, I’m only talking to a couple of schools, probably more D-2 because D-1 has to have that all locked in way before anyone else and so it’s definitely been a struggle.
But I’m still contacting schools that I’m interested in and working through it, relying on God.”

This is likely the girl who will be our wing scorer, someone who can shoot a 3 or put the ball on the floor and create. Overall her stats have shown growth and improvement each year and looks like an all around good player.
I did not find any stats for Anna Hurst. She was selected the Tri County POY as a junior. Most teams backed off recruiting her after she suffered her second ACL injury. Looking at some videos she is a good passer and shooter and seems to have a great understanding of the game. Reading the article that Eddie posted speaks to her character. So if she can stay healthy she will be a valuable player for us in her career.
At this point it looks like we have reloaded and unless we find a top level difference maker we are probably ready to go for next year.
